The controls on this page control how folder comparisons are displayed.
Show Changes columns
Check this option to turn on the changes column in folder comparison windows. The column is used to display the number of differences between files when performing thorough comparisons between files.
Show Last Modified columns
If checked, folder comparisons include columns showing the Last Modified timestamp for each file.
Show Size columns
If checked, folder comparisons include columns showing the size for each file.
Show line counts instead of block counts in change columns
Merge usually shows the number of blocks of changed, inserted, or removed lines in the Changes column. Check this option to show the total number of changed, inserted, and removed lines instead.
Display copy files window
Check this option to display the Copy Items window when copying files between folder hierarchies. The window enables you to modify the path to which files and folders will be copied.
Prompt to replace files
Check this option to be warned before overwriting existing files when copying files between folder hierarchies. If unchecked, target files will be overwritten silently.
Problems encountered when copying files, such as a target file being read-only, will still cause a prompt to be displayed even when this option is unchecked.
Uncheck this option only with care.
Prompt to delete files
Check this option to be prompted before deleting files. If unchecked, files will be deleted silently.
Uncheck this option only with care.
Show simple file/folder icons
If this option is checked, Merge will display stock file and folder icons in folder comparisons. If unchecked, the appropriate icon for each file will be used. Folder comparisons may operate slightly faster if this option is selected.
