Find

Use this window to find and/or replace a specified piece of text.

To find text:

• Enter the search text into the Find field.
• Select the Next button to locate the next occurrence of the text.

To replace text:

• Enter the text to be replaced into the Find what field.
• Enter the replacement text into the Replace field.
• Click the Replace button to replace the selected text in the window with the replacement text. Click the Replace & Find button to replace the first instance of the search text, and then find the next. Click the Replace All button to replace all instances of the search text with the replacement text.

Find

Enter the search text into this field, or choose a previous search text from the drop-down list.

Replace

Enter the text to replace the search text with into this field, or select an entry in the drop-down list box.

Entire file

Select this to enable the search or replace operation to cover the entire document.

Selected text

Select this to restrict the search or replace scope to the selected portion of the document. This setting is disabled when there is no selection within the document.

Ignore case

Check this to make the search case-insensitive.

Wrap around

When checked, if the search fails to find a match from the current insertion point through to the end of the selection or file, continue the search from the beginning of the selection or file.

Textual

This drop-down is a placeholder for future additional functionality.

Contains/Starts with/Match whole word/Ends with

• Contains matches the search text wherever it occurs within a word.
• Starts with matches the search text only if it occurs at the beginning of a word.
• Match whole word matches the search text only if it matches an entire word.
• Ends with matches the search text only if it occurs at the end of a word.
