Fonts/Colours
The controls on this settings page are used to configure the appearance of text in file comparison windows.
Separate colour settings are stored for the light and dark user-interface modes. This makes it possible to customize colours suitably for each mode and switch between them at will.
Text preview
The text previews show how unchanged, inserted, removed, and changed text blocks will look in file comparison windows.
Background
Click one of the colour selection buttons in this group to change the background colour of a text block type.
The unchanged text background colour is not configurable in dark mode. This is necessary to support macOS window tinting because the comparison panel background needs to be drawn with specific macOS materials.
Inserted/removed/changed-block background
This slider changes the opacity of text block backgrounds. The text previews show the resulting effect.
Font
The buttons in this group enable you to change the font and foreground colour for each type of text block that can be displayed in file comparison windows.
Use ‘Unchanged’ font for all text
Check this setting to make Merge use the Unchanged font for inserted, removed, and changed text blocks.
Linking lines hue
Click to change the hue of the lines used to link related changes in text and binary comparisons. The default grey is recommended for optimal appearance with macOS window tinting and window translucency over a variety of desktop backgrounds.
Dim resolved text by
Use this control to change the percentage by which resolved (greyed) sections of file comparison panes are dimmed.
