Renew Upgrade/Support Entitlement, or Upgrade from Standard to Professional

Renew support to continue access to new product releases and technical support. Or, upgrade from Standard to Professional.

Either way, it’s a simple three-step process.

Step 1

Fill out and submit the following form:

You will be shown the entitlement for each of your serial numbers, and can choose your desired action (renew support, upgrade from Standard to Professional or, in the case that your serial numbers relate to a v6.0 subscription, exchange serial numbers for free). The cost, if any, of your selected action will be shown.

Step 2

Araxis will email you:

  • New serial numbers and download instructions;
  • Or, a quotation (with a unique authorization code) telling you how much your desired renewal or upgrade will cost.

Step 3 (for customers sent quotations)

Purchase your support renewal or upgrade.

Information The fastest way to purchase an upgrade is online (through our US reseller, BMT Micro) using your credit card. To do so, follow the link included in the quotation email.

If you do not wish to purchase your upgrade online, please contact your chosen reseller (see the list of Araxis resellers) to place your order. You will need to provide your reseller with a copy of the quotation email containing the authorization code.

Common questions about support renewal and upgrading

I have questions about an aspect of the upgrade/support renewal or upgrade process; whom can I ask?

Can I buy upgrade/support renewal or an upgrade online?

Yes. Please see Step 3 above.

Can I upgrade from the Standard to Professional Edition?

Yes. Just use the Merge Upgrade/Support Renewal or Standard to Professional Upgrade form in the usual way. On the page that appears once you have submitted your serial numbers, take care to specify ‘upgrade from Standard to Professional’ for the I want to option.

If I upgrade from Standard to Professional, will I get a full year of upgrade/support entitlement with my new serial number?

Yes. Your new serial number will entitle you to support and upgrades for a full year, even if you are upgrading from an old version of Merge Standard. This means that you will be entitled to use the latest versions of Araxis Merge Professional released before and during your year of support.

My upgrade/support entitlement has expired. If I renew, will I be able to use Merge for macOS and Merge for Windows?

Yes. The same serial numbers work for Merge on both platforms. The only requirement for a serial number to work with either version of Merge is that its support expiry date is after the release date of the version of Merge that you are trying to use.

Will I have to pay more if I don’t renew support as soon as it expires?

No. There is no penalty if you don’t renew straight away. Of course, we hope that you will find value in maintaining ongoing access to support and the latest upgrades to Merge.

I’ve received a replacement serial number. How do I enter it into Merge?

  • In Merge for Windows with the ribbon interface, choose FileAbout Araxis Merge…Re-Register… to re-enter registration information. In the old-style interface, choose HelpAbout Araxis Merge…Re-Register…
  • In Merge for macOS, choose Araxis MergeAbout Araxis Merge…Re-Register… to re-enter registration information.

How do I tell whether I am already entitled to use the latest version of Merge?

The easiest way to find out your entitlement is to enter your serial number(s) into the Support Renewal or Upgrade form.

I have lots of different serial numbers purchased at different times. Can I renew upgrade/support entitlement for them all so that they all have the same support expiry date?

Yes. Simply enter all the serial numbers together as a single batch into the Upgrade/Support Renewal or Standard to Professional Upgrade form. If you purchase support renewal, your replacement serial numbers will all have the same support expiry date.

How does Araxis work out the cost if I want to renew upgrade/support entitlement on several serial numbers with different expiry dates?

We pro-rate the support renewal fee appropriately for each serial number that is entered as part of a batch into the Upgrade/Support Renewal or Standard to Professional Upgrade form. When you purchase support renewal, your replacement serial numbers will therefore all have the same support expiry date.

If you subsequently purchase additional licences, simply include those with your existing serial numbers the next time you come to renew support.

Can I renew upgrade/support entitlement for only some of the serial numbers for which I have a renewal quotation?

Our arrangements with resellers mean that they can only process a quotation in its entirety. If you’d like to renew only some of the serial numbers for which you have a renewal quotation, please request another quotation using the Support Renewal or Upgrade form, this time for just the serial numbers that you want to renew.

Can I renew upgrade/support entitlement a few weeks before expiry, to ensure continuous access to upgrades and support?

Yes, and this is recommended by Araxis.

Where can I download Merge once I have my new serial numbers?

Merge can be downloaded from the Download Araxis Merge page.

I have a Merge v6.0 Subscription. How do I get a serial number that will work with Merge 2007?

Information If you purchased a Merge v6.0 subscription (but not if you simply have a v6.0 non-subscription licence), you are entitled to Merge 2007 (this is the new name for Merge v7.0). It is likely, however, that support has expired for your existing serial number(s). If so, you can use the same three steps shown above to exchange (at no cost) your pre Merge 2007 serial numbers for ones having a later support expiry date that will work with Merge 2007. You won’t need to do this if your existing serial number already works with Merge 2007 and later.
