Araxis Replace In Files 2012 releases

Replace In Files 2012.234 (17 December 2012)

We’d like as many people as possible to enjoy this new release. We are therefore providing it as a free upgrade for all our existing RIF customers. If you are using the non-Mac App Store version of RIF and support has expired on your serial number, please contact us with your serial number for a free replacement.

This release fixes a single bug. It is recommended for all users. Note that the OS X Supplemental Update is required for correct operation on both OS X v10.8.2 This link is to an external website and OS X v10.7.5 This link is to an external website, so please ensure your system is fully up-to-date before installing this release.

Bugs fixed

  • Due to limitations with the OS X security sandbox, backups are no longer made when modifying files added individually to the Choose files and folders to search table. In the previous release, the attempt to make such backups failed with an error. Backups continue to be made (if the appropriate preference is enabled) when modifying files found under folders added to the Choose files and folders to search table.

Replace In Files 2012.232 (12 November 2012)

This release improved compatibility with OS X Mountain Lion, featured minor enhancements (including additional Retina-resolution artwork), and addressed several bugs. All users are recommended to upgrade to the latest release.

Enhancements

  • OS X v10.8 Mountain Lion is now supported. This replaces support for OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard. Customers using Snow Leopard may, of course, continue to use RIF 2011.123. [I13333, I13463]
  • The application icon artwork has been updated for Retina displays. The application itself continues its full support of Retina display resolutions. [I13403]
  • Support for OS X Lion and Mountain Lion fullscreen mode has been added. [I13449]
  • RIF runs in a security sandbox on OS X Lion and Mountain Lion. [I12799, I12785, I13013, I13303, I13472, I13485, I13486]
  • The non-Mac App Store version of Araxis Replace In Files has been signed with an Apple Developer ID, enabling it to run with the default Gatekeeper This link is to an external website security settings in OS X Mountain Lion. [I13291]
  • The Mac App Store version now has a one-time request to rate the app on the store. Please consider taking advantage of this if Araxis Replace In Files is useful to you. [I13295, I13411]
  • Numerous minor cosmetic improvements have been made to the user interface. [I13457, I13306, I13446, I13012, I13475, I13476, I13478, I13494]
  • Minor improvements have been made to the online help. [I13340, I13343, I13348, I13447]
  • Serial numbers with support expiry dates later than 2017 are supported. This is only relevant to the non-Mac App Store version of Replace In Files. [I13362]

Bugs fixed

  • The redundant Notifications tab has been removed from the Preferences window of the Mac App Store version. [I13338, I13345]
  • The navigate-to-next-match down-arrow button is now disabled when last match is selected and that match has a warning. [I13441]
  • When the last line is selected and then removed, the first remaining match is now automatically selected. [I13442]
  • Automatic crash reporting (non-Mac App Store version only) now looks for the correct crash reports. [I13181]
  • The product version number in the application .plist file has been corrected. [I12916]
  • After dismissing the Registration window (non-Mac App Store version only), the About window appears on top of the main application window, rather than behind it. [I13335]
  • When using Lion’s resume feature, a restored application window with files and/or folders in the search pane will now search those items when a search is started. [I13440]
  • The minus button is now disabled when there are no folders or files listed in the table of files and folders to search. [I13325]
  • The text formatting in the evaluation notification message (non-Mac App Store version only) has been improved. [I13334]

Araxis Replace In Files 2011 releases

Replace In Files 2011.123 (13 July 2011)

This release added support for Mac OS X Lion and addressed a few minor issues. It is recommended that all users upgrade to the latest release.

Changes in this release

  • Mac OS X v10.7 Lion is now supported (tested with the Lion GM). This replaces support for Mac OS X Leopard. Customers using Leopard may, of course, continue to use RIF 2011.105.
  • The RIF application bundle has been renamed to ‘Araxis Replace In Files’ from ‘Replace In Files’. Copying this release to your Applications folder will not therefore replace an older release. You may therefore wish to move the older release to the Trash. [I12641]
  • The application bundle .plist file now correctly identifies the version of the application. This should improve compatibility with certain third-party services such as MacUpdate. [I12552]
  • The Save As… menu item no longer appears inadvertently on Lion. [I12731]
  • The application window is now displayed upon startup on Lion, even when RIF had been download with Safari. [I12746]
  • Several crashes under Lion have been addressed. [I12621]
  • The Copy Serial Number button is now inactive during the 7 day trial. [I12135]

Replace In Files 2011.105 (21 March 2011)

This release addressed a few minor issues and added support for the Mac App Store. It is recommended that all users upgrade to the latest release.

Changes in this release

  • Replace In Files is now available in the Mac App Store. [I12372]
  • The RIF download disk image (.dmg file) is approximately 2 MB smaller than before. [I12416]
  • Shortcut keys now work even when no replacement text has been specified. [I12460]
  • A typographical error in the regular expression reference help topic has been corrected. [I12163]
  • The RIF application window now has the caption Araxis Replace In Files, rather than Replace In Files. [I12304]

Replace In Files 2010.67 (12 October 2010)

This is the first release of Araxis Replace In Files 2010 for Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard and v10.6 Snow Leopard. It is recommended that all users upgrade to the latest release.
