To reach this options page, select View > Options... > Folder Comparisons > Additional Options
The controls on this page are used to enable or disable various prompts that might appear when using the folder comparison window.
Display copy files window
Check this option if you want the Copy Files window to be displayed when copying files between folder trees. The window enables you to modify the path to which files and folders will be copied.
Prompt to replace files
Check this option if you wish to be warned before overwriting existing files when copying files between folder trees. If the option is checked, you will be prompted before overwriting an existing file. Otherwise, target files will be silently overwritten. Uncheck this option only with care. Other problems encountered when copying files, such as a read-only target file, will still cause a prompt to be displayed.
Timestamp tolerance
Use this control to adjust the margin of error allowed by Merge when checking that two timestamps are the same. When comparing files across a network or on different file systems (for example, between NTFS and FAT), timestamps can sometimes differ by a small amount.
Note that this option only has an effect when thorough comparisons are turned off (that is, when the Always check file content option has not been selected).
Ignore time-zone differences (see Help)
Different time-zones used by the filesystems that contain your files and folders can sometimes cause timestamps to appear to differ by one or more hours. By checking this option, Merge will ignore hour-sized differences (up to a maximum of 13 hours) when comparing timestamps. The adjacent timestamp tolerance option will, if checked, be taken into account as well when comparing timestamps.
Note that this option only has an effect when thorough comparisons are turned off (that is, when the Always check file content option has not been selected).
