Select Files and Folders

Use the controls in this window to perform advanced selections in the folder comparison results list.

Selection type lists

There are two selection lists for a two-way folder comparison, and three for a three-way folder comparison. The lists represent columns in the folder comparison results list. Each entry in each list corresponds to a file or folder state in that column. Rows in the results list that contain a file or folder that match one or more of the checked states will be selected.

The states that can appear in each list are as follows:

State Description
File Matches if the row contains a file in this column.
Folder Matches if the row contains a folder in this column.
Unchanged Matches if the row contains an unchanged file in this column.
Changed Matches if the row contains a changed file in this column.
Inserted Matches if the row contains an inserted file in this column.
Removed Matches if the row contains a removed file in this column.
Newer File Matches if the row contains a newer (changed) file in this column.
Absent Matches if the row contains nothing in this column.
Resolved Matches if the row contains a resolved file or folder in this column.

The lists won’t necessarily contain all of the states listed above.
